HLG 100 V2: choosing between 4000 K and Rspec

For the HLG 100 family, first identify the listing you are actually ordering. HLG Europe has an HLG 100 V2 listing with 4000 K and Rspec options, a separate HLG 100 4000K listing and a separate HLG 100 Rspec listing. Similar spectrum names do not prove that all three are the same hardware generation.

What 4000 K and Rspec describe

HLG presents its HLG 100 V2 4000 K as a white-light option primarily aimed at vegetative growth. Colour temperature describes the appearance of that white light, not its complete spectral curve. The official HLG 100 Rspec page describes full-spectrum white LEDs plus deep-red LEDs, with use through flowering and the full cycle. Consider the stage this light must cover, the other lights in the room and the documented curve for the exact item.

US listings cannot establish the power or PPF of all three European products, whose LED references differ. Check the specifications and manual of the exact variant offered. Even a confirmed PPF does not describe light distribution across the bench.

Choose the application, then the exact product

For a dedicated vegetative area, study the 4000 K variant first. For a cycle that also includes flowering, examine Rspec's documented deep-red component. Existing lights may change the choice. In either case, confirm planted area, mounting height and a PPFD map for the exact generation.
